DONT RENT FROM BJB!!!!

I have been renting apartments in chicago for 7 years, since my freshman year of college. This past year I made the grave mistake of renting from BJB. DONT DO IT. THEY ARE BY FAR THE WORST COMPANY I HAVE EVER RENTED FROM. I lived at 629 Deming. The place looks okay during a brief walkthrough, but the you realize how badly you're being ripped off once you move in. Several things were broken or disgusting ( such as the shower) when I moved in. Only a few of these things were fixed and it took almost the whole year to do so after several requests and then several complaints. The property manager is a jerk who actually yelled at me on the phone once when I was trying to resolve a problem that had not been fixed by maintenence. This building is poorly kept, the so called fitness room is disgusting. I don't think it's ever been cleaned. The elevators are always broken and that was part of the reason I chose to live here since I needed to have a few knee surgeries over the past year. Again...complaints about broken elevators ignored and even laughed at. Don't waste your money living in this overpriced prison.

BAD MOVE

I wish I would have done my homework prior to moving into 1036 N. Dearborn. After living in two "lemon" apts., being flooded, having no heat, brown water, etc. I reported the company to the Better Business Bureau only to find out they are not a member (no surprise). The management denies or ignores the many complaints received, and makes every attempt to blame the client for problems related to incompetent managers and an old building that falling apart.

Poor security, dirty, pest infestations reported, poor water pressure, heat lighting, and inconsiderate neighbors who party every day of the week and leave garbage in the halls, and bodily fluids in the...

STAY AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY

do not rent from this company. They do not care if you are living in a rat infested, mold filled apartment. You rented it..you got it...is there stance. They will never return phone calls and obviously don't care about you or your living space. Stay away from their apt. complexes. If something goes wrong w/ your apartment under there lease you are screwed.
